Your participation in the spending accounts ends the date you do not make a required contribution, or the date the Company terminates the plan, whichever is earliest. If your employment with the Company ends, your pretax contributions to the Spending Account(s) will stop.
For information about how you may remain in the HCSA in accordance with COBRA regulations, see “Continuing Your Spending Account Participation” below; this continuation option is not available under the DCSA.
If your participation ends under the:
- - HCSA, you may submit a request for reimbursement for expenses you incur through your last day of employment.
- - DCSA, you may submit a request for reimbursement for charges incurred during the current plan year, both before and after your participation ends, as long as you have money remaining in your account.
You have until March 31st (postmark date) of the following year to file for reimbursement for eligible expenses from either account.
Continuing Your Spending Account Participation
If you are participating in a HCSA, you will be able to continue to file claims for expenses incurred through the last day of your employment with ACS, up to your projected annual contribution amount less any previous reimbursements. You will also have the option, under COBRA, to continue your participation (making contributions and filing claims) in the HCSA; however, your contributions will be with after-tax dollars.
You may not file for reimbursement for expenses you have incurred after your last day of employment, unless you continue to contribute after-tax dollars through COBRA. You may not elect to contribute to your HCSA under COBRA in subsequent plan years. For information about COBRA continuation coverage, see your Summary Plan Description.
If you are participating in a DCSA, you will be able to continue to file claims against your account balance for any expenses you have incurred before and after your employment ends through December 31st of that year. You may not continue your DCSA participation under COBRA.
